Police have received several reports of daytime break-ins in the past two weeks and investigators believe the incidents could be related.
"I'd like to get the word out so the public can let us know if they see something suspicious. You won't be bothering us, just give us a call," said Police Chief William Mulligan.
The most recent incident occurred around noontime Thursday when a woman was getting ready for work inside her Lakeview Avenue home and noticed a shadow by her window and thought someone was trying to break into her home, according to police. A male friend at the home went outside to investigate, but didn't find anyone, police said. Tyngsboro police searched the area and called in police dogs from Billerica but also didn't find any suspects.
Mulligan said several other homes in the area have been broken into during the day within the past two weeks, including a home on Coburn Road where the thief stolen tools. Mulligan said jewelry was stolen from a Bridle Path Way break-in during daylight hours on Oct. 18.
Mulligan reminded residents to lock their doors and be alert for suspicious activity.
If you have any information about the recent break-ins, call Tyngsboro Police at 978-649-7504 or 978-649-7505. Dial 911 in cases of emergency.
